Wearherbound in Noumea

We did leave today but struck 30 knots just outside the harbour of Noumea so decided to wait until things quieten down a bit. Completely at variance from the GRIBS!! At least the French authorities don't insist on immediate departure and neither do we have the mindless nonsense of NZ's Category One!!! We had the main double reefed and would have set the staysail but became concerned at the sea state in the lagoon let alone what it would be like outside, so we anchored again in Baie de l'Orphelinat. The weather is fine but unbelievably windy and it's all caused by a big fat high between here and NZ - the usual story. We are hoping that things might ease a bit between this high and the next one following close behind. Tomorrow we are going back into the marina at Port Moselle to top up with water and fuel and get some washing done and then will be leaving again!
Cheers from us...........
