This is an excellent interview which throws well researched arguments against the last 80 years of attempted American world domination - often with disastrous consequences.
Just imagine if all the money that has been swallowed up by endless wars, had not been, how much better the world would be now. Think of Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq as three very well-known needless examples.
And a very good argument could be made that without constant American regime change aggression, the Cold War with the USSR might never have happened.
If countries had been engaged in peaceful trade and development, instead of armed aggression, what a different world we would have had.
Of course there has always been a need for well equipped and organised military forces which could be used on a co-operative basis to quell armed aggression wherever it may have erupted, but apart from legitimate defense of one's own homeland security, that should be the limit.
Peaceful, co-operative and competitive trade would have created international attitudes and conditions unimaginable today.
There is US debt (34 trillion USD right now) - none of which can ever be repaid. And much more around the world. All this debt is inevitably going to cause an economic implosion as has never been seen and with consequences that can only be imagined. The weaponisation of the US dollar over the last 80 years is now directly responsible for the growth of the BRICS trading and currency bloc, which may well succeed in its aim of overthrowing USD dominance. The existing US debt  growth has only been possible with the USD dollar as the World Reserve Currency. If that status disappears, the resultant collapse will be even more catastrophic.
To embrace, or perhaps even consider these arguments, certainly needs a substantial mind shift among most, if not all of us, as our lives have been conditioned by the last 80 years in which we have lived, to a greater or lesser extent.
Maybe all, or some of the above, could be said to be wishful idealism, but one can always strive to look beyond the current extremely dangerous world state - and hope.
As always, your thoughts and opinions will be appreciated here in El Retiro.........
We hope all is well in your lives....
