Once again, we have no doubt and hope that you are all in the pink! 

The following figures have always been subject to fraud and considerable doubt, but they are the best we have. For example, influenza which is a recurring disease, has almost disappeared in recent times!!

In view of that, we have decided in future to present a very slimmed down version. As we have been doing for some weeks now for mainly other South American countries, we will in future only be showing active cases and active cases per 1 million of total population. At this stage of the Chinese Virus, we feel that those are the key demographics to show and compare week to week.

MUNDO - World

Total cases - 139,828,469 - (21,168,111) - up 118,660,358 or 560.6%

Deaths - 3,002,476 - 2.2% - (759,328 - 3.6%) - up 2,233,148 or 294.1%

Recoveries -118,889,035 - 85.0% - (13,984,843 - 66.1%) - up 104,904,192 or 750.1%

Therefore active cases - 17,936,958 - 12.8% - (6,425,939 - 30.3%) - up 11,511,019 or 179.1%. Of the total population (which is estimated to be increasing at the rate of 1,557,692 per week) of 7,857,880,447 (7,804,380,455), the percentage of active cases is 0.228% (0.082%) of the total world population.

Total active cases per 1 million of total world population since previous week - 2,283 - (3,026) Since previous week the figure is down by 743 or 24.6%

The total world number of deaths now appears to have reached another grim milestone - over three million world-wide. BUT, it is also noted that "normal" influenza almost vanished from the world in 2020. There is no doubt that these figures are manipulated for political purposes - to what extent is anyone's guess. 

However, these figures show a substantial improvement over the previous week's figures. Total cases are up 5,088,408 or 3.8%, whereas active cases are down by 5,434,219 or 23.3%. So, the situation is more than holding its own. Let's hope these trends continue.  .

ESTADOS UNIDOS - United States

Total cases - 32,226,766 - (5,429,115) - up 26,797,651 or 493.6%.

Deaths - 579,008 - 1.8% - (170,781 - 3.2%) - up 408,227 or 239.0%

Recoveries - 24,771,394 - 76.9% - (2,844,535 - 52.4%) - up 21,926,859 or 770.8%.

Therefore active cases - 6,876,364 - 21.3% - (2,413,829 - 44.6%) - up 4,462,535 or 184.9%. Of the total population of 332,532,060 (331,236,184), the percentage of active cases is 2.068% (0.729%) of the total population.

Total active cases per 1 million of total population - 20,679 - (9,043) - up 11,636 or 128.7%. Last week the figures were up 11,634 or 128.7%.

Compared to last week, the comparative figures are (movements compared to last week in parenthesis):

Total cases up 505,078 or 1.6% (up 965,767 or 3.1%)

Deaths up 5,114 or 0.9% (up 14,055 or 2.5%)

Recoveries up 498,521 or 2.1% (up 1,076,656 or 4.6%)

Active cases up 1,443 or 0.02% (down 144,944 or 2.1%)

These are surprising figures, given the reported extent of the vaccination roll-out. Active cases, which is the key figure, have gone from being down 145,000 to being up by 1,443 this week. A major cause is that recoveries are well down by over half a million. Let's see what happens next week.

It is felt that the following article "On the Holmes Front" with Frank Holmes says all that needs to be said about the state of America today:
"During the 2020 campaign, Joe Biden promised to "unify" Americans.

But a new poll shows that in just 87 days, President Biden has divided Americans more than any time in modern history.

A new Gallup poll finds the biggest ever gap between members of the two political parties - a whopping 86 percent gulf between Republicans and Democrats.

While 96 percent of Democrats see Biden as a good leader, only 10 percent of Republicans agree.

America's common ground is even more fractured than it was four years ago, when the vast majority of Democrats thought Russia colluded with President Donald Trump to "steal" the 2016 election from them.

Still, the division has ticked up nine more points under Biden than under Trump.

Gallup compared the same numbers for every president in the last 20 years, going back to George W. Bush in 2001 - and Biden is the worst of the lot.

"Party gaps in approval ratings were about 30 points lower for Obama, Bush and Clinton than they have been for Biden," Gallup reports.

Pollsters also found historic levels of division between American citizens based on education and sex - and near records for race and age.

That's a huge failure for Biden, who has promised to bring "unity" to America ever since being named President-elect.

"With the campaign over, it's time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation", Biden said the day the media named him the winner of the 2020 election.

But during the election, an Associated Press poll found that 85 percent of Americans said the country was deeply divided over its values...and 37 percent believed Joe Biden would make matters worse.

It turns out they were right.

Biden promised again to make "unity" his focus as president during his inauguration in January.

"Today, on the January day, my whole soul is in this: bringing America together, uniting our people, and uniting the nation," Biden said...but then he went on to say America was riddled with "systemic racism," and the division began.

Biden's administration has begun with a hard-left position on every issue...and just keeps moving left.

The only real "unity" Biden has pursued is the "Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force," where socialist Bernie Sanders sketched out a far-left agenda for Biden to follow the second that his hand came off the bible.

Biden has shut down the KeystoneXL Pipeline, created a border crisis by ending President trump's border security measures, forced girls to compete against biological boys for sports scholarships, and made American taxpayers fund abortions around the world.

He pushed through a $2 trillion "COVID-19 relief plan" that had nothing to do with COVID -19, now he's selling a $2 trillion "infrastructure" plan that has little to do with infrastructure.

"We should ignore the unity talk because everything he has done leans far left," wrote New York Post columnist, Michael Goodwin.

Some of Biden's actions have been thin-skinned and mean. He may have illegally fired administrators - including a woman taking scheduled maternity leave.

Meanwhile, the media churn out endless stories presenting Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as charming, trying their best to get Americans to fall in love with the Bidens and Harris-Emhoffs as much as "journalists" have.

"The corrupt sycophantic press corp will go along dutifully with this unity fiction, and express astonishment as the culture war it attempts to disguise continues to tear the country apart", predicted Ben Domenech of the Federalist.

But more and more the American people aren't buying it.

Public opinion of Biden has been nosediving.

Less than half - 48 percent - of Americans approve of the job Joe Biden is doing in office, according to a new Quinnipiac poll.

As early as the beginning of this month, Biden's approval rating stood at 61 percent, according to the HarrisX poll.

What explains a 13 point drop in just days? After all, Democrats still support Biden by near 10 percent levels.

Biden's failures must be making a dent on all registered independents.

Independents aren't partisan. They don't care about which party is winning or losing. They just care whether their lives are better.

Under Biden-Harris, their lives - and our country - are worse off. No amount of media spin can cover that up for ever.

Goodwin hoped that at some point "the smoke will clear and voters will judge Biden on the merits of his own presidency". It looks like that time has come".

We have talked many times about the destruction that is being wrought on the United States by the Biden cabal, who were "elected" by deceit, and fraudulent  and treacherous means which are now starting to be exposed by proper scientific forensic audits of the vote counting systems in key counties of the "battleground" states. In the meantime, because they know their time is limited, the Dims are wasting no time in their destructive and inhumane Mexico border policy, the beginning of the destruction of the US energy industry, and the insidious "Cancellation Culture" where anyone or any organisation that dares to question their criminal, unconstitutional and woke policies in education and commerce is sidelined and either sacked from their jobs, or prevented from ever getting another. In addition they are giving China increasing confidence that the US would be ineffective against any aggressive moves they may make. Not to mention re-joining the Paris Climate Accords which are nothing more than another tool to seriously disadvantage western countries against mainly China which, while a signatory, is not bound by any of its provisions for some years. And they are abasing themselves before the criminal regime of Iran in order to give back all the advantage that Donald Trump extracted from that rogue state. In short anything that Donald Trump achieved, they are determined to tear down and destroy.

Most American cities are now experiencing the same vicious BLM and Antifa riots nightly that occurred last summer. The exceptions are the "red" states which have solidly supportive legislation protecting the police, whereas the woke incompetent leadership in the "blue" states simply want to strip the police of resources and normal police powers. Even to the extent of removing their police altogether. That would be great in cities like Chicago where homicides are advancing to all-time highs.

We doubt whether the situation is retrievable, and so the only outcome from that is Secession. Time will tell.

Therefore active cases - 103,459 - 4.0% - (169,196 - 39.0%) - down 65,737 or 38.9%. Of the total population of 51,309,459 (50,948,628), the percentage of active cases is 0.202 % (0.332%) of the total population.

Total active cases per 1 million of total population - 2,016 - (1,367)

Active cases compared to last week are up 32,224 or 45.2%

After showing promising trends for some weeks, the figures are suddenly deteriorating by substantial weekly movements. Let's hope we've peaked again and that the trend will reverse.

Jean is enjoying her time in Miami with the Nietos. She is helping with their morning school work (home schooling) and being with them whenever they are out doing their thing. She's ridden a pushbike down the road with them and picked them up when they have come off their skateboards.

She rings twice a day to check on the old geezer left behind in Medellin and glean all the news. So far he's managed to do 2 lots of washing and kept himself fed more or less. Jean returns to Medellin on the 22nd. Better make sure the floor is mopped and the bed made!!!

On the 14th. met our American friend, Chuck, and had a preview of the 2 new pups that their Shih Tzu, Sophie, has proudly produced. They are a month and a half old now and they already have homes promised to go to. Then, after dropping off the dogs at their apartment, yours truly and Chuck wandered off to the restaurant quarter of Envigado and had a very pleasant lunch. Spent much of the time reminiscing about previous lives  - his experiences as a medic in Vietnam which no-one would want to repeat. And him travelling with his family to Philadelphia in their '56 Chev Bel Air - same car we had in NZ, except the steering wheel was on the other side! First car yours truly drove from Paihia to Kaikohe at the tender age of 14 to put Dad on the National Airways Corporation DC3 to Auckland. Seems, and is, like another time.

Following are the "active cases per 1 million of total population" for each country nominated above. Figures in parenthesis are for the previous week.

Mexico - 2,025 - (1,992) - up 33 or 1.7%. Now a miniscule rise; concerning after recent weeks' drops 

Costa Rica - 5,402 - (4,481) - up 921 or 20.6%. Another substantial weekly increase. There seems no end to it. 

Panama - 900 - (1,029) - down 129 or 12.5%. Another satisfactory move downwards. Continuing recent trends. 

Colombia - 2,016 - (1,389) - up 627 or 45.1%. A bigger rise in weekly percentage terms than last week, and very concerning. Let's hope the current wave is at last diminishing. 

Ecuador - 2,203 - (1,916) - up 287 or 15.0%. Rate of increase is up; another concerning trend. 

Peru - 686 - (804) - down 118 or 14.7%. Another very satisfactory reduction. What are they doing right in Peru?  

Bolivia - 3,222 - (3,201) - up 21 or 0.7%. Reversing previous declines but only by a very small amount. Let's hope they can start reducing the numbers again. 

Paraguay - 5,438 - (5,085) - up 353 or 6.9%. Same rate of increase as last week. Maybe it's plateauing - maybe not. 

Brazil - 5,408 - (5,656) - down 248 or 4.4%. An increasing rate of reduction from recent weeks. Let's hope the peak has passed and they can continue this trend. 

Chile - 2,273 - (2,131) - up 142 or 6.7%. Weekly rate of increase going up. Another worrying trend. 

Argentina - 5,931 - (5,002) - up 929 or 18.6%. About the same weekly rate of increase continuing as recorded recently. Not good. 

Uruguay - 9,226 - (8,166) - up 1,058 or 13.0%. A lesser weekly rate of increase than recently but still a number way too high. Uruguay is head and shoulders above the rest of S America - FOR THE WRONG REASON!!  

United Kingdom - 2,060 - (4,371) - down 2,311 or 52.9%. WOW, what a reduction! Certainly shows up what is left of the EU. France's number for example is 16,513 and Germany's is 3,289. There's Socialism for you in all its inefficient glory!! Today watched the sad occasion of the funeral of the 99 year old Duke of Edinburgh, Consort for 73 years to Queen Elizabeth II. An end to an era - absolutely. Father of four, grandfather of eight and great grandfather of ten. Served with distinction in the Royal Navy in WW2 and since, until he was forced to give up his naval career when Elizabeth became Queen in 1952.

Thailand - 150 - (38) - up 112 or 294.7%. A substantial deterioration in percentage terms, but of course the numbers are still low in comparison to many other countries. 

Malaysia - 569 - (453) - up 116 or 25.6%. A substantial rise after some weeks of figures going the right way. 

Japan - 262 - (210) - up 52 or 24.8%. Similar comments as for Thailand really. Let's hope that they can turn things around again. 

Taiwan - 1 - (1) - no change. The poster girl of Asia. But China is probably soon to squash that. Can't have such obvious capitalist success right on their doorstep!  

AUSTRALIA

Total cases - 29,483 - (23,035) - up 6,448 or 28.0%

Deaths - 910 - 3.1% - (370 - 1.7%) - up 540 or 146.0%

Recoveries - 26,385 - 89.5% - (13,634 - 59.2%) - up 12,751 or 93.5%

Therefore active cases - 2,188 - 7.4% - (9,022 - 39.2%) - down 8,834 or 75.8%. Of the total population of 25,732,506 (25,538,969), the percentage of active cases is 0.009% (0.035%) of the total population.

Total active cases per 1 million of total population  - 85 - (56). Up 29 or 51.8% since last week.

Compared to last week, active cases are up 52 or 2.4%.

Some deterioration since last week, but when dealing with relatively small numbers, the movements always appear more substantial than they actually are. 

NUEVA ZELANDA - New Zealand

Total cases - 2,591 - (1,714) - up 877 or 51.2%

Deaths - 26 - 1.0% - (25 - 1.4%) - up 1 or 4.0%

Recoveries - 2,464 - 95.1% - (1,531 - 95.5%) - up 933 or 60.9%

Therefore active cases - 101 - 3.9% - (49 - 3.0%) - up 52 or 106.1%. Of the total population of 5,002,001 (5,002,001) - still no change! Maybe the reason is that the birth rate is just holding its own against the death rate  - ah, we have stumbled on the secret!! Amanda the Midwife will have to try harder!! Anyway, the percentage of active cases is 0.002% (0.001%) of the total population.

HOW CAN PEOPLE SEEMINGLY NOT CARE ABOUT THIS BLATANT ATTACK ON DEMOCRACY?

In Arizona we've mentioned before the all encompassing forensic audit to take place in Maricopa County, which comprises most of the city of Phoenix. It took months of overcoming obstruction by the Maricopa County Electoral Board to such an audit, with the Arizona Senate finally winning approval from the Arizona Supreme Court to continue with the audit. Among many other things it is claimed that 16,000 dead people voted and at least 2,000 were all registered to the same address - a vacant lot in Phoenix. The total extent and scope of the fraud will be revealed in due course.

But now the Democrat National Committee (DNC) has sent in the big guns - Hillary Clinton's lawyers, Perkins Cole from DC - to attempt to subvert the start of the audit. WHAT ARE THEY FRIGHTENED OF AND WHAT ARE THEY HIDING? These questions are on many Americans' lips as we speak. These obstructive actions speak volumes and we have no doubt that in the end the audit will proceed. The state legislature (the Arizona State Senate) in the end has sole authority.

The second state suspected of much fraud (Wisconsin), where Biden "won" on a razor-thin majority, has also instituted a thorough investigation into known election "irregularities". 

If these states prove that Trump won them in fact, and the other states that we mentioned follow, as they are likely to do, what then? There is no legal precedent for dealing with electoral fraud of this magnitude, so at this stage no-one knows the answer. 

Anyway, read the 2 articles for all the gory details - and gory they are. Be prepared to be absolutely shocked, if you haven't already been brought to that point.

One other thing we must also mention - a Newsmax report a short while ago reports that "China admits its Covid Vaccines aren't any good". They are running around like headless chooks trying all sorts of solutions including mixing different vaccines. If anyone received any of these counterfeit Chinese Vaccines - THEY WOULD NEED THEIR HEADS READ. To read just go to Newmax. com and the article should still be there!! From what we've read, the Chinese vaccines are in widespread use in S America, including Colombia, so, BEWARE!!

As always, we trust that this finds everyone in the pink. 

For the first time we have missed a week of reporting this disease which has become the subject of so much controversy, misinformation and an excuse for governments the world over to exert draconian controls on their populations. Not to mention the "vaccination passports" being actively touted by the Biden crooks. The aim is to take away citizens' most basic rights, such as being able to travel (internally and internationally), visit a restaurant, sporting fixture, hold or get a job,  and many more. Fortunately there is now strong evidence that concerned and patriotic citizens are resisting this most basic assault on liberty and freedom. Note that the crook in the White House said over Easter that getting vaccinated was a "moral obligation". What a hypocrite when his administration is actively encouraging criminals and others across the US-Mexico border - many of whom are certainly not vaccinated and actually have the Chinese Virus which they are spreading rampantly and randomly throughout the United States. 

There was an article in the NZ Herald (not a paper we normally quote from these days!!) which referred to the UK variant which is now described as almost a new virus. It is widespread in Europe and also in the US. There are fears among many virology and epidemiology experts that it will be unresponsive to any vaccine. It is more lethal and contagious than the original Chinese Virus. Makes our reservations about vaccines even more relevant.

Also just read that the AstraZeneca vaccine will no longer be offered to those under 30 because of the underlying risk of blood clots. This could just be the tip of a very nasty iceberg. 

In these Chinese Virus times, the world seems more uncertain than ever. And that's not even mentioning the hypocrisy and lies which emanate from the Democrat liars and all other left wing liars in many countries these days. The figures are not so good. Compared to 2 weeks ago, total cases are up approx. 9 million, deaths remain at the same percentage of total cases at 2.2% as before, recoveries are at a miniscule lower percentage of total cases, active cases are up by 1,749,561 (8.1%) and total active cases per 1 million are up 273 which is an increase of 9.9%. None of this is going in the direction that you might expect, given the roll-out in many countries of the vaccines.

Active cases are down by a lesser amount compared to the reduction of of 2 weeks ago. However, deaths are up compared to the figures of 2 weeks ago,  but so are recoveries, and the total new case increase has exceeded those of 2 weeks ago by 570,244. Surely there should be NO total case increases week on week with the vaccine roll-out, which is in full swing - apparently. However, it is encouraging to see that the total active cases per 1 million of total population has actually reduced by 438 or 2.1%. Small gains overall, but it remains to be seen how things progress from here.

On the 2nd. we watched an interview on the Laura Ingraham Show where she interviewed Craig Shirley who is a well-known author and American History historian. His argument is that America is now so deeply divided between the Republican ("red") and Democrat ("blue") states, that the divisions are not capable of being healed and so separation (Secession) is inevitable. This is the first time that we have heard such opinions openly stated. We have flirted with the Secession idea in previous blogs ourselves as it has seemed to us also that the political divide is irreconcilable. The blue states are bankrupt and the red states are not. The blue states are run by grossly corrupt Democrat governors and legislatures who appear willing to do whatever it takes to maintain their toxic Socialist hold on power, whereas the red states are governed with integrity in the best interests of their citizens. So, there is really only one answer, but the immediate worry is the military security of a divided country with China adopting a more and more aggressive stance world-wide. And of course the debt which the Socialist crooks are hellbent on expanding massively with their "Covid relief" and "Infrastructure" bills. These bills are fraudulent because only miniscule proportions of the proposed expenditure will actually go to their deceptive headline titles.

Basically the blue states are only interested in destroying America and so the split whenever it comes is probably inevitable.

There have been persistent reports for some time now that Biden is intent on devaluing the USD. As we've been saying, it's the only (faint) possibility of ever repaying the US's horrendous debt. But what will that do to the US's financial reputation when its creditors receive devalued dollars? And of course the inflation that will result. And they still propose to print more - lots more. This is a slippery slope that has been repeated many times in history and the end result is always the same - the complete destruction of the country that perpetuates such fiscal insanity. 

A reading of the history of the Weimar Republic in Germany in the 1930's or the decline of the Roman Empire should be instructive. The eight reasons for the final fall of the Roman Empire in the 500's AD are uncannily similar to many things now taking place in the United States. One of the main problems with Rome was its vast size which virtually made it ungovernable. So, they divided it into the East (Byzantium - later Constantinople) and the West centred on Rome. Rome was already in a very weakened state and soon fell victim to its own corruption and invasions from Germanic tribes from the north. The East on the other hand was well governed and wealthy, but it too fell to the Ottomans in the 1400's - 1,000 years later. Shades of the present with the corrupt and bankrupt Democrat states and the well governed and fiscally responsible Republican states. More reason for Secession, but the same ultimate fate could overtake all of the former USA for the same reasons. The Republican states are unlikely to survive for another 1,000 years as the Eastern Roman Empire did. Things tend to move a bit faster these days!!    

Apart from the border crisis which predictably is worsening all the time, and the fraudulent multi-trillion dollar bills that the Dims are trying to bulldoze through the Senate, the latest move is to go after guns. There is a popular misconception, which yours truly must admit to having had, that the whole problem is automatic and semi-automatic weapons. In fact statistics show that the most number of homicides are committed by people with hand guns.

The lawlessness which is now endemic in Chicago and New York as well as other cities, is way out of hand and horrifically increasing, simply because of the woke mayors and governors who push this ridiculous and destructive policy of de-funding the police and also taking away normal policing powers so that the police cannot operate effectively and in fact are themselves suffering increasing casualties as a result of these deliberately destructive policies. One can only assume that these city and state authorities are not stupid, but simply pursuing an endgame of destroying America. There's simply no other credible explanation. 

Once upon a time we might have felt that there were too many guns in America - now with the increasing lawlessness, we feel that quite probably there aren't enough.

GUN CONTROL IS NOT ABOUT GUNS; IT IS ABOUT WHO CONTROLS AMERICA - AND THE DIMS ARE SCARED WITLESS ABOUT THE NUMBER OF GUNS IN PRIVATE HANDS. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY RISE IN HOMICIDES - INDEED THEY ARE ENCOURAGING THAT BY DEFUNDING THE POLICE -  THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT POWER.

Justice officials such as city and state DA's are even worse, as they willfully release people charged with serious violent crime on NO bail. Many of those criminals just go on to repeat their offences with innocent people suffering as a result. There was the case last year where a lawyer in St. Louis, Missouri and his wife were confronted with a lawless BLM mob who had broken into their gated community. The couple confronted the mob outside their home holding an automatic rifle and a handgun. The mob were screaming that they would break into their house, kill them and burn the house to the ground. The mob eventually dispersed, but who knows what might have happened had the courageous couple not actually confronted them. Since then, the local DA has charged them with gun law violations - they didn't shoot anyone! This is how crazy many "blue" states have now become. The case, almost a year later is still dragging on in and out of the courts. Things have become so bad that law-abiding citizens need their guns for their own protection.

Anyway, guns like cars, don't kill people - people do.

News to hand in the last 24 hours is that Biden is saying that he will resume building Trump's wall, but much damage has already been done and his extreme left lunatics will be baying for his blood if he does that. It seems that he is panicking because he realises that he has through sheer incompetence, created a human catastrophe of astronomic proportions on the Mexican border. And it is getting worse by the hour.  In February there were 9,000 unaccompanied minors coming across the border illegally; in March the figure is 19,000. Rooms designed for 32 are now holding at least 400 - that's a 1,150% overcrowding factor. There are grossly overcrowded enclosures where unaccompanied minors are being held - many with Covid. And there are increasing reports of rape occurring within these enclosures with not a border patrol officer in sight - because they are being totally overwhelmed. We hope that the corrupt, criminal and murderous Biden and his criminal cohorts are satisfied with the human carnage and child trafficking that he and his band of Socialist crooks have directly caused.   

But, regardless of all the horrific situations caused and still being caused by this destructive Biden administration, the one overwhelming concern is the state of the US economy and the debt that is being relentlessly increased by this administration. It is now in the vicinity of 80 trillion dollars when you take into account corporate and other private debt. There is only one way in which this massive debt can even begin to be repaid and that's by inflation of proportions that have never been seen in the US. And this inflation, which will destroy economies, and interest rate rises will spread around the globe. If you thought COVID-19 was a problem, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Total cases - 2,492,081 - (433,805) - up 2,058,276 or 474.5%

Deaths - 65,014 - 2.6% - (14,145 - 3.3%) - up 50,869 or 359.6%

Recoveries - 2,355,832 - 94.5% - (250,494 - 57.7%) - up 2,105,338 or 840.5%

Therefore active cases - 71235  - 2.9% - (169,196 - 39.0%) - down 97,961 or 57.9%. Of the total population of 51,299,093 (50,948,628), the percentage of active cases is 0.139% (0.332%) of the total population.

Total active cases per 1 million of total population - 1,389  - (1,367)

Active cases compared to two weeks ago are up 23,875 or 50.4% 

The figures are moving upwards considerably compared with 2 weeks ago. Total new cases have increased by 132,239 (5.6%). The percentage of deaths compared to total cases has fallen. The percentage of recoveries has also fallen slightly and active cases are up 50%. We've commented on the weekly movements in active case numbers before. Frankly they stretch credibility. Either the earlier figures were wrong, or the movements are wrong. The whole system is so inefficient and corrupt, who would know. Our figures which are derived from Worldometers, could also be wrong, as they are supplied by the governments concerned. It is being claimed that the Brazilian strain is now rampant in Colombia and that this is responsible for the present increasing trend. Who would know? Suffice it to say, the Brazilian strain is claimed to be much more infectious than the original and may even be resistant to any vaccine. Another reason NOT to have the vaccine in ANY circumstances. There is so much deliberate and incompetent misinformation that for us we will simply look after ourselves to the best of our ability and ignore "official" pronouncements. They say that the Brazilian strain is more virulent for those under 50 - again who knows? 

On the 4th. dropped Jean off at Jose Maria Cordova Aeropuerta Internacional for her flight with Jet Blue to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We had been a little apprehensive about the check-in procedure with all the extra documentation needed with proof of Chinese Virus negativity etc etc but all went swimmingly. She checked in at 1130 for her flight at 1440. Then yours truly carried on his lonely (!) way back through the 11 km Tunel Oriente (Eastern Tunnel) and back down to Envigado 1,000 feet below. Had a meal at the Otraparte Cafe because there had been nothing since a plate of the usual fruit salad at 8.30 and then repaired back to our apartment which felt quite welcoming after the usual madcap Colombian driving! Although have to say that the traffic was much lighter than normal so not so bad. 

Anyway, she arrived safely at Fort Lauderdale and Perry met her. She has been happily reunited with the Nietos. She's been involved with their home-based schooling and with them on daily excursions to a circus that they are actively involved in and on-going swimming lessons. It is the youngest's (Nash) birthday party on the 10th. - he's achieved the grand old age of 6!! They are 2 boys of 8 and 6 - full of energy which is extending their 74 yr old grandmother!! She'll love that in the blog!!

The anti Chinese Virus restrictions here in Medellin have been extended. The curfew and Pico y Cedula have been extended to April 19th. The curfew is of no consequence for us old codgers, but the restriction on days that you can shop makes life inconvenient to say the least. You can't just say - "oh, I forgot something yesterday" - and go and get it, so it all requires a bit more organisation. Probably not such a bad thing!!

Now we have further restrictions in the face of claimed collapses of the Medellin hospital system. If this is the case, it would probably be mainly caused by infected people being brought into the city for treatment from regions where medical treatment facilities are either very rudimentary or non-existent. The whole health system in Colombia is corrupt and therefore as a consequence in total disarray. An unforgettable example of this is that right at the earliest stage of the Chinese Virus, 1.5 billion USD simply disappeared. It was intended for hospitals to pay doctors and nurses who hadn't been paid for weeks and also to provide desperately needed PPE - but the money just disappeared. There has since been no news of its whereabouts or any on-going investigation. One cannot trust any official pronouncements any more, if one ever could! Anyway, the latest panic measures are that from 8pm on the 8th. there will be a curfew extending unbroken until 5am on the 12th. A hilarious aspect of this and the earlier restriction is that there is a stipulation (Ley Seca) that liquor cannot be sold during the hours of curfew. How would anyone be able to buy anything between those hours anyway? More Colombian logic!!! 

Things for yours truly to do while the boss is away - search for a desk and chair, move existing desk into spare room which will become the office and continue sorting all the papers and items brought from storage in NZ in 2019. 

There has been a developing problem with our fridge. The freezer is OK, but the fridge isn't maintaining the correct +3C temperature. Once again Clara came to the rescue and rang a serviceman who duly arrived and diagnosed the problem as a sensor and the fan. In the meantime the fridge is useable, but not for anything which needs to be just above zero. Anyway, he came back on the 9th. to effect the necessary repair which in total will be 455,000 Pesos (NZD 182). No doubt cheaper than getting a serviceman to come to one's house in Godszone!! Just been told today (9th.) at the last minute that the freezer has to be emptied 4 hours before the guy comes. That's nonsense because we are not taking the risk of losing all the contents - which are considerable. So, it will be emptied 30 minutes before they come; the problem is that appointments mean nothing here and they may not turn up on time which is crucial right now. Anyway, he can use a hair drier to unfreeze anything that he needs to work on. Now all done - used the hair drier to melt ice and the fridge is now reverting to its correct operating temperatures as we speak.

Clara is also keeping a motherly eye on the old codger all on his own, because she sent over some home-made lentil soup which was consumed with great relish. We have had Clara's lentil soup before and it is delicious. 

Now 81 hours of total lockdown until 5am on Monday morning to endure. Not that there is any shortage of things to do, but the whole thing is unscientific nonsense and just an over-blown knee-jerk reaction.

Figures are up, but all in managed isolation. But once again, at what cost?

Have listened to Leighton Smith's latest podcast #105 of April 7th. He interviewed Professor Des Gorman who is Professor of Medicine in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland. It was one of the more fascinating of Leighton's interviews that has been broadcast and we recommend that everyone should listen to it - www.newstalkzb.com.nz. We should also add that we find all of Leighton's podcasts fascinating to some degree or another!!

Prof. Gorman stated that NZ's health system has been on its knees since 1938 and certainly could not cope with a full-blown community outbreak of the Chinese Virus.

He also stated that NZ's approach to this health emergency is all wrong. He mentioned Taiwan as an example where they have created a much lower level of infection than even NZ. NZ has done it by using a sledge-hammer approach involving closing the border and also by the sheer good luck of being an island nation miles from anywhere at the bottom of the Pacific. In the process the tourist industry, NZ's biggest foreign exchange earner, has been all but destroyed. But the main issue with NZ is that they have used a combination of politicians (with all the political pressures) and the existing creaky and over bureaucratised health system to deal with this crisis. The economic consequences are profound and are only now beginning to be truly felt - as is the case with the rest of the world.  

Professor Gorman also stated that in his opinion the Chinese Virus would be with us now for the next 5 to 10 years and that we all just have to get used to the fact. We concur absolutely with that assessment.

Instead, New Zealand should have followed Taiwan's successful model of creating a well qualified and resourced task force and then leaving them free of political pressure to do what was necessary. Taiwan has not had any lockdowns whatsoever and yet currently their rate of active cases per 1 million of population is just 1 - down from 2. And with almost 5 times NZ's population. NZ, in spite of draconian border measures and some lockdowns, currently has a rate of in the vicinity of 19. NZ needs to get a grip!!! That's unlikely, because Prof. Gorman also said that when people get fearful, they tend to cling more and more to perceived benign authority and that's exactly what's happened in NZ with the fawning over the toothy grin. Even any controlled relaxation of border rules would almost certainly be met by anguished protest with everyone thinking they are about to shuffle off this mortal coil as a result!

We have just listened to an interview of Dr. Naomi Wolf, She is a prolific author and holder of some controversial views. A read of her Bio is fascinating. She said that in her opinion It seems that there is SOME likelihood that in the near future requirements for vaccination passports will be introduced. The obvious area will be air travel, but will be extended to visas - whether for permanent residency or just cruising the seas on a yacht. They could in fact be extended to all areas of your lives, such as driving cars and visiting supermarkets to buy food. Think about that - and resist all these continuing attempts against our hard-won liberties.

A surprising mixed bag, considering the vaccines are rolling out. Total cases and deaths are up less than the previous week, but recoveries are less than half of the previous week's figure and therefore active cases are down by only 20.2% of the previous week's figure. There seems to be a stalling of progress, but maybe we need to take a longer-term view!

There are a number of situations in the US which are not only getting much worse - but one wonders just how much things have to deteriorate for there to be some overt signs of rebellion. For example, there was the declaration from Senator Lyndsey Graham (R-S. Carolina) that if the Biden crooks denied him and 18 other Senators plus their press coterie full access to every aspect of the disgraceful situation at the US-Mexico border on their recent visit, then he would "shut down the US Senate". That is an unprecedented statement from a senior US Senator and just shows the depth of feeling now running, not only in the general population, but in the highest law creation body in the land.

The border is a total train-wreck. The Dims' agenda is to allow as many undocumented individuals into the US as possible to maximise their voting base. And right now there are more than 16,000 children in US Border Patrol custody in the Obama/Biden cages (which they then vilified when Trump was president). These children are rented to male adults who use them on repeated occasions to give credence to false claims that they are their parent and thus gain entry to the US. And young girls from 10-13 years old are in possession of contraceptives because the chances that they will be raped, are high indeed.

The Dims have deliberately and systematically unraveled and destroyed all of President Trump's work in controlling the border in a humane way. They are directly responsible for this unconscionable situation which they have directly encouraged. Biden doesn't have a clue as to what he has unleashed and just a few days ago delegated the whole can of worms to VP Harris, but she just gave one of her braying laughs and declined all responsibility. WHO THE HELL IS RUNNING THE UNITED STATES? AND WHOSE FINGER IS ON THE NUCLEAR BUTTON?   

The US Navy is not only outgunned by the CCP Navy, but the top military brass is conducting a purge of everyone who voted for Donald Trump!! Firstly, without even violating the 1st Amendment, how on earth do they know who voted for who? But there is no doubt that "wokeness" has now fully infiltrated the armed services, as it has every other aspect of society. Apparently they are even encouraging members who have inclinations to change their sex, to have discussions on the subject. We don't care about anyone's sexual inclinations, but this is madness indeed. We cannot imagine what all of this is doing to morale and therefore the ability to be an effective fighting force. They need to be concerned about the very real military threats facing the US, instead of all this nonsense. 

Most worryingly, according to retired 4 star US Army General Jack Keane, the US would lose a conventional war with the CCP right now, were it to break out over Taiwan for example. If this does not concern every NZ'er for instance, we don't know what would. 

There are encouraging moves where Australia, India and Japan together with countries directly affected by the theft of the South China Sea are getting together to combat the CCP's aggressiveness. America may be there and it may not. Where is New Zealand? Hiding in its Socialist wokeness.

Then we have new revelations of Hunter Biden - the President's son. When will this disgusting crook/traitor be brought to justice? It now appears that he was illegally in possession of a hand-gun which his girl friend (who was the wife of his brother who died) dumped into a dumpster outside a Delaware grocery store. The gun has since disappeared and there are multiple violations of gun laws involved. The Secret Service got in on the act at one stage and tried to obtain the documentation authorising the gun's purchase, but quite correctly the gun shop refused to supply the documentation. This was just a blatant attempt by the US Government to seize and suppress criminal evidence. Maybe something will become of this because the other criminal activities of H Biden (traitorous collusion with elements of hostile foreign governments for money and paedophilia, evidence of which was all discovered on his laptop) have not so far been prosecuted, although we are assured that investigations are on-going. But when will all this amount to anything?  At the moment the DOJ at its highest levels has also been hijacked by the Dim crooks, so it's all anyone's guess.

The other issue we want to mention is the hijacking of the US public education system by the teachers' unions. There is absolutely no justification for keeping public schools shut down while private schools are fully functioning 5 days a week. Children do not respond well to on-line learning and indeed a whole year or more of education has now been lost. Just how this can be reinstated is a difficult question because any attempt to recreate the lost time in schools will just result in a log-jam with younger students coming through. This closure of the public school system has no medical or epidemiological  basis and has just been the expression of Socialist dogma in one of its worst forms. It amounts to child abuse on a massive scale as proportionally only a small number of parents have the ability and/or time for home schooling, although unsurprisingly this is a growing movement. One mother who was a guest on Laura Ingraham's recent Town Hall, has 10 children, 4 of whom she was home schooling! Talk about busy, but no doubt the older children could help to some extent, but they are all fully involved with their own tertiary studies.   

The revelations coming from the US are just getting unbelievably worse by the day. Sooner or later there has to be some sort of opposition which will be impossible for the Dim crooks to ignore. Whether this is military in nature or just many forms of legal disobedience, remains to be seen. The main question is just how much will the 75 million who voted for Trump tolerate. Already there is a multitude of lawsuits from 21 states against the administration, so who knows what will happen with these, given the sickening corruption of the entire legal system.

And last but not least, there is the financial situation facing the US at the most critical time with threats to national security abounding. And amid all this the Dims just passed a 1.9 Trillion dollar "Covid relief package", but in reality only 9% will be used for its deceptive title. On top of that they want to spend 3 Trillion dollars more on "infrastructure", which is long overdue, but simply unaffordable right now. All this, together with massive and far-reaching tax hikes will give further credence to believable predictions of an equity market melt-down together with predictions of inflation and interest rate rises. These economic conditions won't just stay within the US either. The world has already changed, but will in the near future change very much more.   

And what about the 200,000 ton container ship rammed into the side of the Suez Canal? Being conspiracy theorists, we feel sure it was deliberate in order to cause the utmost commercial damage when the world is already badly affected by the deliberate release of the Chinese Virus.

There are some disturbing aspects to these figures as they are overturning a previous encouraging trend. As a result we have some new restrictions being imposed until April 5th. We have Pico y Cedula which means that one can only visit a supermarket on odd or even days, depending on the last digit of one's Cedula de Extranjeria. But visits to other shops are ok - where's the logic in that? In addition there are restrictions on the sale of alcohol and there is a nightly curfew. The only one of those that makes any sense to us is the curfew as it is obviously intended to curb partying over Easter. But this is Colombian logic, and we just have to go with the flow!!

Jean had an appointment with an eye specialist last Wednesday at the San Diego Mall and on our way there we ran into the worst hail storm we have ever experienced in Medellin. Close thunder and lightning but at least we weren't at sea with a 16 metre mast sticking up in the air!! There doesn't seem to be any damage to the car, but it was LOUD!! The appointment was a success as Jean had a sty-like infection on one of her lower eyelids, but the doctor dealt very effectively with it by extracting some horrible material from the site. It had been likely like this for some years. Also some antibiotic liquid and the trick was done. And all for a cost of 190,000 Pesos - NZD75. The specialist was a very competent 29 yr old who did a great job. 

We are indebted to our lawyer, Astrid Melendez, who organised the appointment.  

Apart from that, Jean is preparing for her soon to be departure for Fort Lauderdale (Miami), Florida on April 4th. Tickets, ESTA, travel insurance - essential for travel to the US, and packing. She is getting excited about seeing los nietos!! We just hope that the C Virus statistics don't deteriorate further in Colombia which could mean a border closure, although she would be a resident returning. Watch this space!!

Therefore active cases - 74 - 3.0% - (49 - 3.0%) - up 25 or 45.5%. Of the total population of 5,002,100 (5,002,100) - still no increase in the population! What are they doing down there?, - the percentage of active cases is 0.002% (0.001%) of the total population.

Total active cases per 1 million of total population - 15 - (14). An increase of 1 or 7.1%.

Compared to last week, active cases are up 19 or 34.6% 

Don't allow any escape from Managed Isolation Quarantine (MIQ). Shoot to kill!! Better to die of lead poisoning rather than the dreaded lurgi, but of course if any lurgi was detected, the demise could always be attributed to the lurgi. There's a bit of convoluted reasoning for you to unravel! 

We were saddened, but not surprised, to read of a  Belgian doctor, Dr. Geert Van den Bossche, who was born in 1947 and qualified as a veterinary virologist, and who has subsequently worked with many medical research companies during which, among other things, he worked on developing a vaccine for Ebola. He has had years of experience in human virology, including his Ebola research. He has since developed well researched views on the dangers of some vaccines - particularly anti C Virus vaccines. As a result, he has become relentlessly vilified by governments and other self-interested entities who will not tolerate any alternative view to their own narrative under the guise of public health. 

His ideas were to have been screened in a public video at a venue owned by the Nelson City Council in NZ, but as soon as the Mayor was alerted to the nature of the material to have been presented, she directed that the booking for the venue was to be cancelled. This is an egregious example of the  use of the cancellation policies so prevalent these days where alternative views against the prevailing orthodoxy simply cannot be tolerated. In a democratic society, such as we have been used to all our lives, alternative views have always been allowed, but not any more it seems. This will provoke an immense public backlash, not just in NZ, but in all former democracies once people realise the extent to which liberties hitherto taken for granted have been eroded. Total cases - 122,490,928 - (21,168,111) - up 101,322,817 or 478.7%

Some good trends here. Active cases and active cases per 1 million of total population are both down 3.4%. Slow but sure improvement.

On a related subject - possible immediate side effects of the Astra-Seneca vaccine are blood clots, stroke and even death! Probably won't have to worry if one suffered the 3rd. side effect!! All joking aside however, the long-term effects remain unknown, but in some cases it weakens the immune system to such an extent and can completely destroy blood platelets, that by a perverse turn of events one's system cannot cope with the virus that is then introduced by the vaccine in a misguided effort to establish "immunity". These effects can in some cases be more long-term than short-term and the deterioration in blood platelet counts can eventually result in a very severe adverse reaction if a person caught the common 'flu for example. These outcomes are theoretical at this point, but are of sufficient concern that we will NOT be taking the Chinese Virus Chinese Sinovac (or any other) vaccine - especially since the one available here in Colombia is the Chinese one. Anyway, we don't have to worry - the rollout of the vaccination programme here in Colombia is as expected so chaotic that who would know who had what and when?.

Total cases since these reports began are below the total world figure by 19.5%. All improved figures but still a long way to go and it remains to be seen just what effect the vaccinations will have. Our concerns with reported serious side effects of vaccines and lack of long-term testing remain.

The latest example of Dim lies and hypocrisy is that concerning TAX. The Dims said that they would raise taxes "on anyone earning over $400,000 p.a."  Now in some sort of sleight of hand, they have dropped the latest twist that the $400,000 does NOT apply to individuals - but rather to families. With husbands and wives both earning, there would be many households with combined income over $400,000, whereas not so many individuals. However, with the net widened considerably to catch "households", a vastly increased  number of taxpayers will be caught. Sure hope they're glad they voted Dim now!! This is fraudulent misrepresentation on a massive scale, but the Dims are good at that - it started with the election itself. America is a consumer society and with the spending power of consumers hit by increased taxes - and not just income tax - the stage is set for a massive recession. Inflation and interest rates are set to rise also with the crazy monetary policies of the Feds. It is more and more evident that the Socialists are hellbent on destroying the USA.

The Maricopa County in Phoenix, Arizona is proceeding SLOWLY with getting to the forensic examination of voting results. The County Board who must be as crooked as a cartload of snakes, are twisting and turning to block the start of the examination every way that they can. But fortunately the Arizona State Senate is well aware of just what they are attempting to hide and are pursuing the legalities with as much vigour as they can muster. The eyes of the country are on this battle and, when as expected fraud is uncovered, the other "battleground" states will probably muster the courage to follow. As we've said, God knows what will happen when President Trump is proved to be THE legitimate president and that the Dims are just illegitimate crooks and fraudsters.

As regards the cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline project, there are now 21 states all suing the Biden outfit over jurisdiction of the project. Particularly given the disastrous economic consequences for those states. There is some concern that, because the pipeline originates in Canada, only Congress has jurisdiction, but the states have a powerful argument under the 10th. Amendment. All of these legal arguments plus the pursuing of election fraud in the battleground states, and it should be obvious to even those of the meanest intelligence that there is massive opposition to this illegitimate administration. There is a lot more water to flow under the bridge - no-one at this stage knows the outcome, but what is absolutely clear is the damage that is being done to US sovereignty - both at the border and in regard to energy self-sufficiency. Opec is now flexing its muscles on the world energy stage once again - just like the bad old days.   

Meanwhile the Dim (Biden) induced crisis on the southern border just gets worse by the hour. THERE ARE NOW MORE THAN 13,000 UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN WHO HAVE CROSSED THE BORDER ILLEGALLY. And the authorities are being overwhelmed. It is estimated that at least 50% of the illegals of all ages are infected with the Chinese Virus. These kids whose ages range from younger than 5 to 18 are from impoverished families in Honduras, Guatemala, etc. Our theory is that the child traffickers persuade the parents that they can get them across the border to the USA - the land of milk and honey. There they will be looked after and maybe adopted by rich Americans who will give them everything they want. Instead of course what happens is that, having persuaded these poor parents with their pernicious lies, they get them across the border all right with God knows what abuse going on before that happens. Then they either pick them up again or arrange for contacts to do that and the process of selling these kids carries on. 

This is horrible and is bad enough world-wide without Biden and his vicious cronies aiding and abetting the process with the cartels. Most people living in so-called civilised countries have no idea about all this, but they need to know because it's only by vigilance and the willingness of governments through their law-enforcement agencies to counter this "trade" that there will ever be any hope of stamping it out, or even reducing it. The deliberate flouting of the US's immigration laws by the Biden cartel somehow has to be stopped and it is heartening to see the border states at last getting serious about policing their own borders. They owe this duty to their own people, let alone the rest of the USA and the world. The border towns and cities do not have unlimited resources and they haven't even been informed of the numbers coming their way. So what chance do they have of accommodating or feeding these people? 

Now we've just had the spectacle of the US/China Summit in Alaska where China absolutely wiped the floor with the inept US Secretary of State (Blinken - wot a name!!) and the whole US delegation. China now has their perception of the US correctly confirmed as a weak, ineffective "power" and their compromise of the President of the USA is complete. If this doesn't immediately embolden China with regard to Taiwan, the South China Sea and various other islands and territories that they are illegally claiming, we don't know what will. In less than 60 days the Biden cabal has put America into disaster and extreme danger territory. They've emasculated the US military with ridiculous gender based policies - maternity flight suits for pregnant combat flight crew (!), ruined the security on the southern border, attacked and damaged democracy in the oldest democracy in the world, and seriously damaged the security of Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea. NZ, Australia, and SE Asia will be next.

A worrying turnaround from the progress being made over the past few weeks. Let's hope it's only a temporary blip, but many other countries in S America are also showing the same trends. We've bought some more Hydroxychloroquine from the friendly pharmacy in Poblado, so Jean will have some to take with her to the US and there will be some for yours truly, in the unlikely event that the need should arise. Had Clara and Memo around for a revenge match of Parques, but Memo won again!! We'll have to keep trying. 

And our latest packages arrived from Miami via our friendly shipper - Caribbean Shippers. This included some Berberine for Jim's type 2 Diabetes, which combined with a new prescription of Metformin, should do the trick. The endgame in all this is to go off the Metformin altogether and we feel the end may be in sight, as the blood sugar readings are often now within the "normal" range. In all other respects the definition of "normal" hardly applies to you know who!! Swimming now regularly 3 times per week. The pool is 9.2 metres long. So, the regime is 24 lengths walking in chest deep water and the same swimming. That's a total of 441.6 metres of exercise. Nearly half a kilometre. Takes between 30 and 45 minutes. Can't be all bad.   

On the subject of fluoride, we saw that there is legislation coming in NZ to compulsorily fluoridate ALL municipal reticulated water supplies. Here in Medellin, we think that there is some fluoridation of the water supply, but we have a very efficient water filter which takes all that and other chemicals out.

We had sent a wedding present to Jean's nephew, Kagan and his new wife Anna comprising some Colombian designed and made serving dishes. We had to courier them as postage from here is absolutely unreliable. They arrived safely however and the wedding was on the 20th. So, all is well that ended well. Congratulations to Kagan and Anna and all best wishes for their future together.

Uruguay - 3,324 - (2,660) - up 664 or 25.0%. Inexplicable and VERY substantial rises started some time ago. 

United Kingdom - 8,245 - (10,712) - down 2,467 or 23.0%. Still heading down at a substantial rate. About time after the disastrous and incompetent start to dealing with the Virus. But they still seem to believe that lockdowns are the answer, whereas in the US it has been shown that infection outcomes have been more or less the same in states which locked down or left things totally open. Lockdowns, and fear inducing mask wearing are nothing more than Socialist ploys to frighten and force their populations into obedience to the state and its various apparatuses.  

Thailand - 15 - (8) - up 7 or 87.5%. Just shows when the figures are small, even a small increase shows as a large percentage!

Malaysia - 440 - (523) - down 83 or 15.9%. More substantial reductions. Good to see.

 

AUSTRALIA

Total cases - 29,181 - (23,035) - up 6,146 or 26.7%

Deaths - 909 - 3.1% - (370 - 1.7%) - up 539 or 145.7%

Recoveries - 26,236 - 89.9% - (13,634 - 59.2%) - up 12,602 or 92.4%

Therefore active cases - 2,036 - 7.0% - (9,022 - 39.2%) - down 6,986 or 77.4%. Of the total population of 25,709,879 (25,538,969), the percentage of active cases is 0.008% (0.035%) of the total population.

Total active cases per 1 million of total population  - 79 - (56). Up 2 since last week or 2.6%

Compared to last week, active cases are up 65 or 3.3%

Definitely the whole of Canberra will have to be quarantined. For 100 days!!

NUEVA ZELANDA - New Zealand

Total cases - 2,444 - (1,714) - up 730 or 42.6%

Deaths - 26 - 1.1% - (25 - 1.4%) - up 1 or 4.0%

Recoveries - 2,363 - 96.7% - (1,531 - 95.5%) - up 832 or 54.3%

Therefore active cases - 55 - 2.3% - (49 - 3.0%) - up 6 or 12.3%. Of the total population of 5,002,100 (5,002,100), the percentage of active cases is 0.001%  (0.001%) of the total population.

Total active cases per 1 million of total population - 11 - (14). Down 3 or 21.4%. Since last week down 6 or 35.3%.

Compared to last week, active cases are down 31 or 36.1%. 

All active cases are in managed quarantine, so suppose that's ok.

There have been increasing calls for NZ to finally realise that their misguided attempts at a policy of elimination will NOT result in permanently banning the dreaded Chinese Virus from NZ. In fact they should be far more worried about the Communist Party of China and in light of the expected US weakness just how China will react to and treat NZ and Australia.

So, we'll say goodbye for another week and hope that all is well with everyone.
